For the first time in NFL Pro Bowl history, players were voted on by fans, regardless of conference, meaning on January 21st and 22nd, there will be a “draft” to determine teams led by team captains, Deion Sanders and Jerry Rice. Why the change you ask? For years now, the public has complained that this “all-star” game isn’t exactly a touchdown when compared to the MLB and NHL; this provides variety to fans.
Were the athletes voted on by fans strictly based on their on-field performance or was their personal brand and likeness taken into account, as well? We take a look at the athletes currently on our platform that were selected, as well as a few who were left in the cold.
Heading to Hawaii:
LeSean McCoy | RB | Philadelphia Eagles
LeSean McCoy, five-season NFL veteran and second-time Pro Bowler, made a huge impact for the Eagles this season helping them to a NFC Wildcard appearance. His accolades this season include winning the NFC Player of the Month, the first-ever Eagle running back to do so, being named the NFC Player of the Week for week 16 and combining for over 2,000 yards rushing and passing.
From finding his fit on a team of other professional athletes endorsing the sports drink BODYARMOR SuperDrink, to partnering with video game publisher Ubisoft, which donates money to his foundation to help raise awareness about Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, McCoy has proven himself to be a threat on and off the field.

Demaryius Thomas | WR | Denver Broncos
Much of the publicity and praise for the record setting offensive production this season has been given to perennial pro bowler and legendary quarterback Peyton Manning. However, without his top target Demaryius Thomas, Manning may not have set single season records for passing yards and touchdowns. This season, Thomas pulled in 92 receptions for over 1,400 yards and a career high 14 touchdowns.
After growing-up in rough conditions from the time he was 9 years old, he has found his fit with the Denver Broncos and QB Payton Manning. He’s even made best friends with Eric Decker. In fact, they refer to themselves as “Black & Decker“. With two consecutive pro bowl appearances, Thomas is set to make a major impact in the endorsement world in the coming months and years. The future looks bright for this young star.

Eric Berry | S | Kansas City Chiefs
Four years in the NFL and three Pro Bowl appearances, Eric Berry, Strong Safety for the Kansas City Chiefs, made a big impact both on and off the field this season. Eric Berry helped the Chiefs to an 11-5 record and a playoff birth. Berry was selected for the NFL All-Pro Team as he totaled 74 tackles including 3.5 sacks. He also added 2 fumble recoveries and 3 interceptions, returning 2 of them for touchdowns.
Eric Berry made an impact in the endorsement game before he ever stepped foot on an NFL field. Shortly after being drafted in 2010, Berry signed a five year deal with Adidas. Berry also stays involved with the community taking time to volunteer with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program of Greater Kansas City, hosting an annual event benefitting the organization.

Left in the Cold:
Eric Decker | WR | Denver Broncos
After a second consecutive season with over 80 catches, Eric Decker has proven he is one of the top receivers in the NFL. In addition to the 87 catches for 1,288 yards, Decker pulled in 11 touchdown catches this year, including a four touchdown performance against division rival Kansas City on December 1st. Although he wasn’t included on this season pro bowl roster, he is an alternate.
Decker is also gaining popularity off of the field. He and his wife, country signer Jessie James, star in the reality show Eric and Jessie: Game On airing on the E! Network. Eric Decker has also pulled in endorsement deals such as Vito Coco Coconut Water, MusclePharm, and ProActive.
