Hi! My name is Avery Piel. I am a third year Biochemistry and Biomedical Engineering double major and am on the Butler Women's Swim Team. I began swimming competitively year-round over 10 years ago. During my time at Butler, I have been part of the conference team during my first two years and was part of the record-breaking 800 Freestyle relay both Freshman and Sophomore year. I competed in finals both times attending the Big East Conference Championships and received relay medals both years. Regarding my academic and career goals, I would like to work in the field of medical device research. The program I am in is five years long. I will begin my professional experience during the summer of 2024 in the form of an internship. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family while staying active.
