Brett Parks is a U.S. Navy veteran, motivational speaker, actor, and member of the USA Sitting Volleyball team. After a career in the Navy as an air crewman, Jacksonville, FL, his life changed forever on October 17, 2012. Responding to a robbery in progress, he was shot in the abdomen, suffering catastrophic injuries—losing a kidney, part of his colon, and an amputation of his right leg. Rather than retreating, Parks transformed his experience into purpose. He wrote Miracle Man: A Bullet That Ignited a Purpose-Filled Life. A decorated athlete post-recovery—competing in events like the Invictus Games and joining the USA sitting volleyball team—he also dabbles in acting with credits in The Creator (2023) and The Punisher (2017) . Awards include the Governor’s Medal of Merit and a city proclamation recognizing Brett Parks Day.
