Chad Willis became Georgia Southern's head volleyball coach Jan. 16, 2019, and enters his seventh season with the Eagles. Willis' Eagles followed 2023 with another strong season in 2024, recording the team's first consecutive 20-win seasons since 2012 and 2013 after a 22-7 year, earning another trip to the NIVC. The Eagles defeated a Power Conference opponent for the first time during Willis' tenure, taking down Clemson in four sets at home on Sep. 7. GS finished the season at no. 53 in RPI, the highest end-of-season mark in program history and firmly on the NCAA Tournament bubble, which was as high as no. 28 at one point of the season. The Eagles started the season a program-best 12-1 and went 14-0 at Hanner Fieldhouse, the team's first undefeated home season since 2003.
