Hi! My name is Claire Henson and I am a freshman on the women’s golf team at Vanderbilt. Growing up, I was the average kid playing whatever sport was in season at the time… at a point in time, I was even adamant that I would play softball, basketball, and golf in college (talk about a handful!). In middle school I decided golf was what I wanted as my first priority. From then on out i’ve played golf year around and high school basketball (I wasn’t quite ready to give that up). Among bringing home 3 Golf State Championships for my high school, I was also honored with All-District and All-State teams in girls basketball. Needless to say I am a diehard athlete who loves to give it my all it anything I do! Throughout my journey with golf, there have been many trials and tribulations. Between struggles with mental health and injury setbacks, I feel like i’ve seen about all of it. Because of this, helping young athletes through these times is one of my main goals for the future.
