With a background in competitive running and cross-country skiing, Clare tried biathlon at age 25 and went on to represent the US at two Olympic Games and six World Championships, winning a World Cup bronze medal along the way. Clare has a Master's degree in linguistics, speaks six languages, and represents global athletes as a member of the World Anti-Doping Agency Athlete Council and as Chair of the the International Biathlon Union Athletes’ Committee.
