About

Biography

A former member of the U.S. Para Snowboard team, Courtney Godfrey’s notoriety transcends that of athletic ability. As an award-winning journalist, public speaker and amputee advocate, she has proven herself both on and off the course. From the starting gate of the biggest races to the frontlines of the day’s headline news, Godfrey is a multi-faceted performer with a heart for making a difference. Since losing her leg in a boating accident in 2017, Godfrey has pursued a life rooted in advocacy. In addition to being a resource for new amputees on social media, she makes regular hospital visits and serves on the boards of amputee non-profit Wiggle Your Toes and the Hennepin Healthcare Foundation. As a veteran television reporter, she’s covered some of the biggest stories of our time, appearing on CNN, Fox News, and working the last eight years at FOX 9 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. During the 2026 Paralympic games in Cortina, Courtney will co-host two weeks of coverage on NBC Sports.
