My name is Darius Hyde from Merced California, and I’m a walk-on Wide Receiver at San Diego State University. I am majoring in biochemistry and I have aspirations of playing in the NFL. When I’m not on the field, I love to eat, read, hang out with family and friends, and watch sports. Overcoming adversity has become a part of who I am. I was born with a rare heart condition called PDA. I hope to use my platform of playing football to encourage those who are currently fighting PDA themselves. I want to create a PDA awareness foundation and expand it globally across the world. Additionally, I want to encourage all of the underdogs out there. I hope to be a prime example of overcoming adversity from medical conditions, living in dangerous environments, playing Juco football, and walking-on to play division 1 college football.
