Hi! My name is Ella, and I am a Junior at the University of Connecticut! I’m a D1 swimmer specializing in butterfly and sprint free events, and I currently hold the UConn school and pool records in the 100yd butterfly, along with the school record in the 4x100 medley relay! I'm studying Psychology with a minor in Human Development and Family Sciences. I hope to make an impact on mental health advocacy, as I plan to pursue my Ph.D. to conduct research on what factors impact children’s development and mental health outcomes later in life. I am also interested in how resiliency can be achieved, no matter what hardships one has endured throughout the course of their life. Mental health is extremely important no matter who you are, and I believe we need to normalize talking about it. My future career in psychology is not where this journey begins, but rather now, through my collegiate swimming career, as I can utilize NIL opportunities to be a loud voice for mental health awareness.
