Hi, I’m Emma Peyton. I’m from Madisonville, Ky. After high school, I’ve spent 2 years playing soccer at Wabash Valley College which is a JUCO in southern Illinois. This past May, I received my associate’s degree in science and arts. This fall, I will be transferring to play soccer at the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff. It is a division 1 HBCU. I chose UAPB because it has been a dream of mine to attend an HBCU for a very long time. I am very passionate in my activism and social justice and I believe going to an HBCU can properly equip me to expand my efforts in my activism. Not only am I passionate in activism but I’m also passionate in helping my communities. I am going to school to receive a degree in psychology. With this degree, I plan to help communities in an outreach sort of way as well as spreading awareness about mental health. Another thing I am very eager to spread awareness about would be Cystic Fibrosis. Someone very close to me has CF and it is very important to me.
