My name is Emma Spence. I am an international student athlete from Ontario, Canada and can only pursue NIL opportunities when I am at home, during our breaks. I am on the University of Nebraska gymnastics team on a full ride scholarship. My major is communication studies with minors in education and psychology. I am a Canadian National team member and have been since 2017. I was the 2021 Canadian Olympic alternate for gymnastics, 2018 Youth Olympic medalist & 2022 World Championship medalist. I also have many NCAA awards. I am passionate about my sport and am working to help positively change the culture of the sport of gymnastics. I am an advocate for mental health and self care for everyone. I take care of my mental health by spending time with my friends and family, baking, cooking, being outside and listening to music & I love country concerts! I am on many different leadership groups at UNL & I’m our gymnastics team captain. I am completely bilingual in French and English.
