About
Biography
My name is Emma Spence, and I’m a recent graduate from the University of Nebraska, where I was a student-athlete on a full-ride scholarship with the gymnastics team. Originally from Ontario, Canada, I majored in Communication Studies with minors in Education and Psychology. I retired from competitive gymnastics after a long and fulfilling career. I was a Canadian National Team member from 2017 to 2024, a 2021 Olympic alternate, a 2018 Youth Olympic Games medalist, and a 2022 World Championship medalist. During my NCAA career, I earned multiple conference and national awards. I’m passionate about creating positive change in the culture of gymnastics and advocating for athlete well-being. Mental health and self-care are deeply important to me—I find joy in spending time with family and friends, baking, cooking, being outdoors, listening to music, and going to country concerts. While at Nebraska, I served as team captain and was involved in several leadership groups.
