Biography
My name is Erin Kerkhoff and I have loved track my whole life. I had a very successful high school track career so I was fortunate to continue running as an NCAA Division I track athlete at the University of Northern Iowa where I earned MVC All Conference Honors. But that is only half the story... the other part is that I have a vision loss. I have been legally blind since birth, but I did not let that define me or hold me back. I have always pushed myself and throughout my track career most of my competitors never knew that I was legally blind. Then in 2001 I made the decision to try out for the USA Paralympic Team for the Tokyo Paralympics at the age of 19. I made the team and since then I have earned a Bronze Medal in the Paris World Championships and a Silver Medal in the Kobe World Championships. Now I am headed to the 2024 Paris Paralympics as a 2nd time Paralympian and I am excited and ready!!! Let's go Team USA!
