My name is Erwin Cabassa, and I’m a baseball player at Texas southern university. I grew up in the Bronx, New York, but my mom and I moved to Florida when I was seven to start a better life. That move changed everything for me, opening up opportunities I wouldn’t have had otherwise. My mom has always been my everything, sacrificing so much to ensure I could chase my dreams of playing baseball. Her dedication to make sure i was able to follow my dreams, inspires me to work hard every day. In 10th grade, I lost my father, which was one of the hardest moments of my life. Despite the pain, I stayed strong and used that loss as motivation to keep pushing forward. Baseball has been my passion and my outlet, helping me overcome challenges and stay focused on my goals. I’m proud of how far I’ve come and determined to keep striving for success, both on and off the field.
