Hi! My name is Esther Miller. I am in the MBA program at Minnesota State University in Mankato and compete on the women’s track and field team. I am a heptathlete, meaning I compete in seven different events including hurdles, high jump, shot put, 200m, long jump, javelin throw, and the 800m. Before transferring to Minnesota State, I competed on the women’s track and field, basketball, and golf teams at North Park University in Chicago where I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mathematics and Physics. Throughout my time in academia, I have volunteered at local businesses around Chicago, food drives, reading to elementary schoolers, and setting up the Kiwanis Holiday Lights at Sibley Park. While in Chicago and over the summertime since being at MSU, I work as a senior deckhand on the Chicago River for Chicago’s First Lady and Mercury Cruises, an architectural tour and private charter company. I am currently pursuing a 50 or 100-ton Master Captain’s License.
