I believe that as a student and athlete with a variety of diagnosed medical challenges that it is important that I not only perform well today, but that I do all that I can to be able to perform well in the future. With Cystic Fibrosis, a progressive genetic condition that affects the lungs, gastrointestinal system and other aspects of my body, ADHD, CF-related diabetes, and other issues, I face substantial challenges every day. I choose daily to not let any of these stand in my way. Throughout the last several years I’ve competed in baseball, basketball, football, track, cross-country, swimming, and diving. I work out almost daily, make good nutritional choices, focus on keeping my body healthy and strong, and have worked three years as a lifeguard. Although my athletic interests span many activities, I’m most passionate about diving. My parents, family, coaches, teachers, and others have been very encouraging to me throughout my life. I don’t allow these circumstances to define me.
