I’m an Italian student-athlete at San Jose State University. I moved to Us two years ago when I was 18 years old, by myself. I wanted to make a new experience and learn more about other cultures then I decided to pack my bags with with 18 years of memories and tears and I left home, I left my family and my friends. I have grown so much in every way because I have faced so many obstacles and cultural barriers. Life as a student athlete is not easy, but when you add other difficulties such as different language, loneliness is homesickness it all becomes more complicated. I’m very proud of myself and I’m glad to get the opportunity to share my story.
