I am a currently a sophomore enrolled in the nursing program at Lenoir-Rhyne University. I chose nursing as my career path because of being a caregiver in the home for my great uncle while he had cancer as well as my grandpa who had dementia. I love baseball and spent the summer as an intern with the Carolina Disco Turkeys, a collegiate wood bat league out of Winston-Salem, NC, where I got to incorporate my love of photography in my job. I am an active member of my church where I sing in the choir and teach during VBS. I am also a leader at my college Bible study group. I am passionate about mental health for teens because when I was a junior in high school, one of my best friends committed suicide. I was unable to recognize the signs because he was always so happy and always the one making everyone laugh.
