My name is Hezekiah Burks, and I’m a student at Sterling High School and an Ambassador for the Honors College program. I was born in Galveston, Texas, but grew up in Houston through the foster care system, facing years of instability, emotional hardship, and even homelessness. Despite these challenges, I remained committed to my education, maintaining a 4.18 GPA, ranking in the top 1 of my class, and competing in varsity football and track. My journey has shaped me into a resilient, determined, and disciplined individual. As a leader and mentor, I strive to show others that no matter the obstacles, success is possible through hard work and perseverance.
