I started playing football in high school as a freshman, and by the time I graduated in 2018, I witnessed a complete turnaround in our school's program. For years, the team struggled with a 0-10 record, but when Fred Reid, a CFL Hall of Famer, became our coach, everything changed. Under his leadership, our team went from zero wins to an 8-2 record, igniting a shift in campus culture. The football team brought together students from all backgrounds, uniting us in a way that went beyond sports. We weren’t just teammates we became a tight knit community. Now, as I look toward the future, I’m ready to take my game to the next level. With previous opportunities to play in invitational bowl games as a volunteer Athlete with professional organizations, I’m more mature, focused, and driven to make an impact. The lessons from my high school team are teamwork, leadership, and hard work which represent the foundation I carry with me. Along my journey carving a potential profession in football.
