About

Biography

My name is Paul Jing, and I’m proud to be the first Chinese goalkeeper in NCAA Division I history, currently playing for the UCI soccer program. I was named Defensive Player of the Week after just four games, during which I recorded three clean sheets and helped secure three wins. Born and raised in Beijing, China, with a Korean mom and a Chinese dad, and I speak both Korean and Chinese. I appreciate the highly structured and competitive sports system in the United States, which I believe is more advanced than what I experienced in China. I also value the balance between academics and athletics at UCI, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to grow both as a player and a student. Outside of soccer, my dream is to become a model.
