Hello my name is Juan Marquez, I am originally from Venezuela, Caracas. I moved to the States to have a better academic opportunity and have a future, since I had to escape my country because the government was chasing my dad. After a lot of struggle of learning English with zero English background, I was able to make friends and be able to speak it fluently. I stared playing basketball my freshman year because it was a way from me to get out of all my problems and stop overthinking, since basketball is a high speed sport you do not have time to overthink. After failing over and over again I was able to go from cut on JV as a freshman. To 2x Teammate of the year, a career high of 20 pints, playing for team breakdown P32 in miami, and 7 offers in my senior year. I want to use my story as motivation to show everyone that you can do anything that you can do anything when you put your head down, cancel the outside noise, and believe in yourself and your faith.
