Hello! My name is Kate Walsh and I am a sophomore at New York University currently competing as a sprinter and long jumper. Although it is quite a challenging, my intended major is nursing because it is a fulfilling, compassionate career path that aligns with my values. I am the founder and co-president of Violets in Healthcare, which is a organization dedicated to supporting student-athletes at NYU who plan to pursue a career in healthcare. This career path is not easy, but by fostering a sense of community among Violets that are similar to me, we are able to grow as individual students, athletes, and people. My schedule is super busy, but during my free time, I enjoy creating content on our team’s TikTok account. Despite long days of working out and studying, we as a team enjoy making humor out of our niche lifestyle.
