I grew up in a single parent family home. My mom raised me on my word meaning a commitment until the end while working hard at all I do. As an infant I had seizures which resulted in some learning disabilities my mother being a Special Education teacher worked with me at home and made sure to keep me in after school tutorials to keep the label and the making of excuses away from me. I grew up using dyslexic accommodations when reading and have an attention deficit. The doctors told my mom to keep me reading and busy; I was a cheerleader, played volleyball, basketball, softball and ran track while I was in school; receiving altletic/academic honors. Sports has kept me going but at times has also at times has been mentally tough on me. I’m a perfectionist and am working on letting peoples negative comments slide off my sleeve. My mom is my why: she has been there every step of the way with her positive messages while keeping my siblings and I prayed up. I have two brothers and sisters.
