My name is Leah Kennedy, and I am a Pre-Med Major with a Dance Minor. I am an upcoming junior at Troy University. I aspire to become a Cardiothoracic surgeon in the future. I’ve been throwing all my life. On my mothers side of the family, track runs in our blood. My mother was a hurdler/jumper, my aunt was a heptathlete, and my uncle was a sprinter. My grandfather was also very involved in track while he was in the Airforce and when he was younger. Track is my life. I took to throwing because I struggled with self image when I was a kid. Now, I throw to because it keeps me sane. It teaches me lessons daily, and it helps me to understand that life is not perfect. Every throw I take is not perfect, just like life is not. I don’t know who I would be without my throwing. A fun fact to know about me is I have an outtie belly button that snaps. Yes, you read that correctly. It snaps like when you press your fingers together to snap.
