Hi! My name is Liz van der Torre and I am currently a senior at Doane University. I am from Greeley, Colorado and came to Doane on a tennis scholarship! Back in my senior year of high school, I won the state championship, playing singles, and was the first state champion in over 30 years. In addition to this accomplishment, that same year, I also won Colorado Tennis Player of the Year. Now that you know a little bit about my background, I think it is important to talk about what I am involved in here at Doane. I am the captain of the Women's Tennis Team, Merchandise Chair of Omega Psi Theta Sorority, Historian of Cardinal Key Honors Society, Vice President of Active Minds (a club who spreads awareness about the importance of mental health), and was previously the Manager of Men's Wrestling. My sophomore year at Doane, our women's team won GPAC for the first time in program history! Last year, we fell just short, but I cannot wait to see all of our hard work pay off this year!
