Biography
Aloha! My name is Maya! I am 22 years old, and I am currently a transitioning dual athlete! Fun fact about myself— I played four years of Division 1 soccer at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa and now I’m using my fifth year of eligibility to play women’s basketball at the University of Redlands. I also received my bachelors in Kinesiology Rehab Exercise Science. And I am currently working toward my master’s degree in healthcare administration. For me, the best part of sports is being able to inspire and help youth realize they can achieve anything they set their minds to. I’m also really passionate about animals (I have three dogs), promoting and advocating for sustainable practices, conservation efforts, and policies that protect and restore the natural environment. Additionally, I love music and fashion. I am particularly fond of R&B/Hip-Hop, Reggae, & soul. Lastly, Supporting women’s sports and seeing other women excel and change the game is something I care deeply about.
