Hi! My name is Melana Schumaker and I am a Junior at Youngstown State University pursuing a career in Respiratory Therapy. I love being around my family, getting coffee with friends, spending time outdoors, and going shopping. In my future I hope to become a respiratory therapy because I love being helping and caring for others. In high school, I was a Pennsylvania State Champion in the 4x100 meter relay and a finalist and medaled in the pole vault. In high school I was apart of Mini-Thon which helped raise money for pediatric cancer. In my freshmen year of college I placed second at the Horizon League Indoor Conference meet and third at our Outdoor Conference meet. In the 2023 and 2024 track seasons, I placed first in the pole vault winning the Horizon League title. I was able to qualify for the NCAA Division One East Regional meet in Kentucky which was an experience I will never forget.
