Achieving a decorated prep career, Sahakian was the 2023 CIF state champion at 220 pounds, a two-time state finalist, and a three-time placewinner, racking up an impressive career record of 136-6. He secured multiple tournament wins—including Super 32 (2023), Journeymen World Classic (2022–24), and the Reno Tournament of Champions (2021–23)—and competed in the prestigious Flowrestling’s 2024 Who’s Number One event. Internationally, Sahakian was a member of the 2023 U.S. U17 world team in Istanbul, earning fifth place in Greco-Roman, and is a three-time Pan American champion with gold medals in both freestyle and Greco-Roman disciplines. A three-time Fargo All-American, he’s a six-time UWW U17 World Team Trials placewinner and was named the 2023-24 Athlete of the Year.
