My name is Rachel Thompson, and I am a Bahamian student-athlete, tennis player, coach, and advocate for resilience through sport. Tennis has been a major part of my life, teaching me discipline, confidence, and the importance of never giving up, both on and off the court. I am proud to have earned academic and athletic opportunities through tennis, including being part of the Columbia College tennis program in South Carolina. I am also an ITF Level 1 certified coach, and a youth tennis coach with several years of experience helping young players build confidence and skill. One of the greatest honors of my journey was being named a recipient of the Novo Nordisk Donnelly Scholarship. This award gave me the unforgettable opportunity to attend the U.S. Open in August 2025, where I spent the day with tennis legend Billie Jean King in her skybox suite.
