Biography
My name is Ryder Barr. I am a follower of Jesus, first and foremost. When I was 6 years old, I caught a cold, which soon mutated and infected my spinal cord. This infection, called Acute Flaccid Myletis (AFM), left my right arm paralyzed. Despite this, I have been able to compete in high school, college, and amateur golf throughout my career. I have qualified for 3 US Adaptive Opens, am the youngest-ever competitor in the Fightmaster Cup, am the youngest-ever NAOAGA National Champion, am a multiple-time adaptive category winner, am the #2 one-armed golfer in the world, and I am the #1 one-armed golfer in the US. Additionally, I am currently on the Men’s Golf Team at East Texas Baptist University. I love using my situation to inspire others to compete and live life better every day!
