Biography

Sarah Schermerhorn is currently an American professional beach volleyball player participating on both the AVP (Association of Volleyball Professionals) tour and FiVB (Fédération Internationale de Volleyball) world tour. She was a Division I middle blocker at Elon University and finished her senior season as team captain, MVP, and carried her team to their first division title championship. Sarah continued her volleyball career by playing professionally overseas for three years in both Denmark and France. After returning home from her overseas career, she built on her love for beach volleyball and has gained much success during her professional beach volleyball career. In 2019, Sarah garnered the AVP’s Rookie of the Year award, a prestigious and competitive award only given to the highest ranked beach volleyball players in the country. Sarah continues to compete against multiple beach volleyball Olympians and hopes to join them on the biggest stage for the Paris Olympics in 2024.
