Shahrad's life is a testament to determination and resilience. Born in Iran, he discovered his love for sports early on. His journey led him to become a two-time Paralympian, USA national record holder, and a symbol of hope. Despite an unexpected move to the United States as an asylum seeker, his passion for sports remained unwavering. He played a key role in creating the Paralympic Refugee Team and represented them at the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. In 2022, he gained US citizenship and fulfilled his dream of representing Team USA in the Pan American Games 2023 in Chile. His journey continues with the aim of competing in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, making him the first athlete to represent three different flags in international competitions.
