Biography
My name is Sophia Curcio and I am a professional athlete competing in Sport Climbing, specifically the speed discipline. I have been a Speed Climbing USA National Team Member from 2022-2025, which overlapped with my Youth National Team status from 2021-2023. I have competed in 22 World Cups and 2 World Championships for the United States, as well as the Pan-American Games through the IFSC (now World Climbing) and the USOPC. In January of 2025 I was elected to be the Team USA Athletes' Commission Representative for all of Sport Climbing, which has been a huge leadership role and privilege. In my role, I subsequently serve on the USA Climbing Board of Directors as the youngest board member. I plan to continue competing for Team USA and USA Climbing, and hope to secure my Olympic spot for LA 2028 in Speed Climbing.
