My name is Sophia Curcio. I am 17 years old and I am a professional speed climber. I started climbing when I was 10 years old at a gym in Charlotte, North Carolina. In 2021, I won my first Youth National Championship for speed climbing, which kick started my career. In 2022, I made the elite National Development Team for the United States and competed at 6 World Cups, gaining lots of valuable competition experience. In 2023, I made the US National Team and moved to Salt Lake City, Uath, where USA Climbing is based, to train for the World Cups and the Olympic Qualifying World Championship in Bern. With 11 World Cups, 3 Youth World Championships, and 1 World Championship under my belt, I am excited to be representing the United States at the Pan-American Games as an Olympic hopeful!
