Teton Saltes is a multi-talented individual whose accomplishments by age 26 are exceptional. A standout college football player, he earned two Mountain West All-Conference honors and was a two-time All-Academic selection. He made history as the only University of New Mexico athlete to win a major College football award by being the recipient of the Wuerffel Trophy and captained the AFCA Good Works Team. Saltes played professionally in the NFL, USFL, and XFL, winning a championship with the Arlington Renegades. Saltes was inducted into the North American Indigenous Athletic Hall of Fame in 2023. He currently plays for the St. Louis Battlehawks. Saltes is also a passionate advocate for mental health, securing $500,000 in funding for student-athletes in New Mexico. A graduate in political science, he aims for a law career. Raised on the Pine Ridge Reservation, Saltes serves as a board member of the BEAR Project, demonstrating his commitment to community service and positive change.
