My name is Valentina Vivas Castañeda, I am the goalie for Fresno State Univeristy. I was born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia and came to the U.S after playing with my national team back home, to get my BA. I played South American games and won bronze medal (were qualifier for the World Cup 2019), won medal in Cochabamba games in Bolivia and finally won gold in the bolivarianos’s game in Santa Marta. I am majoring in psychology and criminology, minoring in German with a 3.8 GPA. I want to work with a non profit that helps kids around the world. I want to use my psychology major and the experience of being an athlete to change the destiny of many kids without access to education. For instance, back home I was able to be involved with various volunteer programs that used soccer a way to bring kids out of poverty. I believe that as an athlete I get to impact so many lives that look up to me, so I live every day thinking I could inspire someone.
