Biography
Wilmer Janiel Hernández Torres is currently a graduate student-athlete in the Purdue Fort Wayne Men’s Volleyball program. He was born and raised in Puerto Rico where he had the opportunity to represent the island as a member of the Puerto Rican National Team in various international tournaments. He is currently finishing a Master’s degree in Biology with a concentration in Cellular and Molecular biology with the goal of applying to medical school in Puerto Rico for the upcoming cycle. During his four years at PFW, he is a: - (x2) Top 50 student - (x4) Academic All-MIVA Honor student - (x4) Dean’s & Semester Honors List student He also serves as the President of SALT (Student-Athlete Leadership Team), a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, a member of the American Society of Microbiology, a member of the MedLife club, and he is the campus captain for The Hidden Opponent.
