From a sports dominate Family, Xavier has been exceptionally athletic since he was 5 years old. His father Rodney Sr. was an All-American Track & Field athlete at San Diego State in the Mid 80's. His older brothr Rodney Van Jr. was a 3 year starter, at Cornerback for UCLA from 2004-2008. His sister Monique was an All-Pac 12 Track & Field athlete at UCLA from 2014 to 2017! Xavier was All-CIF as a Wide Receiver and Free Safety, while at Helix High School, in La Mesa, CA (Home of Reggie Bush, Alex Smith and Bill Walton)...Xavier was also an All-CIF and State performer in Track and Field, helping to lead Helix to a School Record in the 4x4 Relay (3:15.01) and 5th All-Time in the 4x1 Relay (41.70)...Xavier qualified for the San Diego CIF Track & Field Championships in the 200M, 400M, 4x1 Relay and 4x4 Relay....Xavier will be majoring in Business Finance and minoring in Marketing, while at USD
